Limited infrastructure, contamination of natural water sources, and a lack of affordable purification methods mean that many rural families must rely on untreated water, putting them at greater risk of waterborne diseases.
This community tour offers a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the water crisis in Guatemala while actively supporting a meaningful cause.
Your journey begins with a visit to one of the villages surrounding Antigua, where you’ll gain personal insight into the daily struggles families face when accessing safe water. A knowledgeable local guide will provide context on the root causes of water scarcity and poor water quality, and explain how these issues affect health, education, and daily life across the country.
